Monday, July 9, 2007 AntiBunny #69 Wait...did Pooky actually sound slightly HAPPY at the start of this strip? Thankfully the good old cynical Pooky personality resurfaces at the end. I loved working on this strip. The rain is always fun to draw, and I spent qutie a bit of time on those cobblestone roads, that so set Haunted Junction apart from Gritty City. I inverted the colors on panel 1 just because I thought it looked slightly better that way. and when you take a negative image of gray created by pencil shading you still get gray, so it doesn't come of looking like a negative image, while still giving me that cool white rain look. I've tried drawing white rain with a whiteout pen before but since the paper doesn't absorb it like ink, it never looks as good as black rain. This strip also reffers back to chapter 2 where Juju explains that rabbits can see the super natural, including things like spirits. Don't bother looking up Rain Devils. They don't come from any particular mythology, I just made them up, because I thought cat eared frogs and tadpoles would look funny. Return to ARCHIVE | |||||
