Monday, September 24, 2007 AntiBunny #80 At last Bad Juju makes her official appearance featuring her new more Tim Burtonesque look. To find her in Halloweenland you wouldn't think twice. I've recently upgraded to Paint Shop Pro 11 and you may notice some slight improvements in the editing process, as well as a few inconsistencies where I'm still getting a hang of the changes. It took a while just to figure out that the reason my black lines kept turning gray was because I had anti aliasing on.....yeah I feel stupid. Now if I could just get it to stop spawning new layers every time I so much as make a new text baloon. If anyone knows the answer feel free to send an email. I'm an old fashioned person who wants to do things with a computer. I don't like it when it tries to do things FOR me, and often ends up just getting in the way. Probably why It will be a good long time before I ever consider windows Vista. Anyway, this is turning into a rant, so back to the comic. One new feature you'll see I enjoyed is the way I can now add outlines to text, so Bad Juju can have even creepier text. Art wise I wasn't so sure about this comic when I inked it, but once I scanned it and cleaned it up a bit it's come out quite nice. I slightly mixed things up on the rain drawing longer thinner streaks of rain and differing shades of gray instead of all black to show the rain streaks are at different distances. lastly I felt on the last few strips, while they looked great felt a little oversaturated on the grays, so I'm experimenting with cutting back on the shading for backgrounds and focusing on the actual objects, Since this is supposed to be a creepy looking scene, the stark black and white backgrounds came off well.
